GOP lawmakers float bill to ban 'race-based' preferences in government

"It's pretty simple. If we are serious about ending discrimination in the United States, the first step is for the government to stop doing the discriminating," Rep. Tom Tiffany, the lead sponsor of the bill, said in a statement announcing the proposed law.
